Charlotte man sentenced for bank robbery
A Charlotte man was sentenced to seven years in federal prison this week for robbing a First Citizens Bank branch on Randolph Road near Cotswold Shopping Center.
Jemichael Lovelle Strong, 34, pleaded guilty in December to possession of a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence.
Strong stole $3,871 in cash during the July robbery, prosecutors said.
Police obtained Strong’s fingerprints from a bank deposit slip he used to cover his gun during the robbery, court records show. Police recovered the gun from Strong’s home when they went to arrest him.
