Rock Hill teen fatally shot by friend
A 17-year-old boy died in a Rock Hill shooting Saturday night and a friend has been charged in the shooting.
Police initially said it appeared the teen was killed by a lone shooter dressed in all black, according to WBTV, the Observer’s news partner. Now investigators are saying the shooting was accidental.
Officers found a male victim dead from a gunshot wound around 10 p.m. in a front yard on Horseman Drive.
Rock Hill police say the teen was with friends when the gun fired. Robreece Pickett, 20, was reportedly holding the gun when the teen was shot. Pickett is facing charges of involuntary manslaughter and unlawful carry of a weapon. Pickett's bond has been set at $115,000.
The 17-year-old's name has not been released by officials.
