A western York County woman was arrested after she allegedly cut her husband with a knife and then hid behind a false wall.

Shirleen McCoy, 52, of McCaw Road in Sharon, was charged with criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature, according to jail records. She was placed in the York County Detention Center, where she remained Monday under $50,470 bond.

The victim called a friend to pick him up from his McCaw Road about 11 p.m. Saturday, according to a York County Sheriff’s Office report. He had his arm wrapped in a blood-soaked T-shirt when his friend arrived at the home.

Deputies say they found blood splatter on the front porch and a bloody rag on the ground. The victim, who appeared to have been drinking, told deputies his wife “got upset and cut him with a knife.” He was transported by EMS to Piedmont Medical Center.

Inside the home, deputies found McCoy hiding behind a false wall, the report states. She told officers her husband “cut himself on a nail while he was trying to get into the house.”

Deputies said they checked the spot where McCoy said this happened and found the victim’s injuries “don’t match up” with what McCoy was saying. McCoy was also wanted on multiple bench warrants for failure to appear.
