Lincoln County sheriff’s detectives arrested a Catawba County man who is wanted in Anderson County, S.C., on a first-degree murder charge.

Detectives arrested Christopher Eugene Self, 42, of Vale, after staking out a home in the Lincolnview neighborhood in Lincolnton Wednesday. A pickup truck belonging to Self’s mother was parked outside the home, and investigators obtained information that Self was driving the truck.

When Self left the home and drove away, officers stopped and arrested him without incident.

Self was jailed without bail pending an extradition hearing.

Investigators said drug charges also are pending after they said they found 28 grams of methamphetamine, along with drug paraphernalia and meth lab precursors, in the truck.
