An incident that ended with three people shot in east Charlotte early Sunday resulted from an argument between two groups outside of a house party, police said.
Officers were called to the 3400 block of Bonneville Drive at 1:24 a.m. after reports of an assault with a deadly weapon.
Three people had gunshot wounds when officers arrived, and several occupied vehicles had been struck during the gunfire. According to a police report, the injured were a 19-year-old woman, a 22-year-old man and a 25-year-old man. All three were hospitalized. No one inside the vehicles was injured, according to a report from Charlotte-Mecklenburg police.
Investigators say a large crowd had gathered inside a home on Bonneville for a party. The street became blocked, with vehicles parked on both sides. Outside, an argument started around 1:20 a.m. between two groups of people that investigators suspect knew each other, according to CMPD’s report.
