SWAT standoff continues at Concord home
U.S. Marshals and SWAT team members responded to a Concord home Thursday after two men refused to come out when officers tried to execute a search warrant.
The standoff began just after 4 p.m. at a home in Sheffield Manor, which is off Weddington Road. Concord police said they were called by U.S. Marshals to assist with a search warrant.
When two men inside the home refused to come out, the SWAT team was called in. As of 9 p.m., more than 20 law enforcement officers were at the scene, police said, including snipers.
Police said neighbors have been asked to stay in their homes.
Investigators have not released any information about the men or the search warrant that was being executed.
