Two men are in custody after refusing to come out of a Concord home for nearly 12 hours during the execution of a search warrant.

The standoff began just after 4 p.m. Thursday at a home in Sheffield Manor, a neighborhood off Weddington Road. Concord police said they were called by U.S. Marshals to assist with a search warrant.

When two men inside the home refused to come out, SWAT was called in. At the peak of the standoff, more than 20 law enforcement officials were at the scene, police said, including snipers.

Authorities finally took the two men into custody just before 1 a.m. Friday.

Investigators have yet to release any information about the men or the search warrant.
