6th suspect arrested in 2015 fatal shooting on Rozzelles Ferry Road

Police have charged a sixth suspect in connection with the fatal July 2015 shooting of 34-year-old Kynyatta Tshionna.

Tevin Faulkner, 23, was already in the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office on unrelated charges, police said late Thursday. He has been charged with murder, attempted armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery in Tshionna’s death.

On Wednesday, police announced the arrests of David Ford III, 25, Adrian Mcleod, 24, Antoine Nicholson, 23, Andrew Tarlton, 22, and Destiny Gray, 22, in connection with Tshionna’s death.

Police said the shooting was not random but have not released a motive.

The shooting happened in the 2200 block of Rozzelles Ferry Road.

A 911 caller reported shots being fired near Seldon Avenue and Rozzelles Ferry Road. While en route, police received a call about a single-vehicle wreck in the 2200 block of Rozzelles Ferry Road.

The vehicle had struck a utility pole, and a male in the vehicle had gunshot wounds, police said. Medic pronounced him dead at the scene.

Police later identified the victim as Tshionna.
