Charlotte-Mecklenburg police on Thursday charged a 15-year-old boy they said drove a stolen vehicle that struck two other vehicles during a police pursuit on Brookshire Boulevard Wednesday.

Police charged the juvenile with possession of a stolen vehicle, fleeing to elude arrest, driving without a license and resisting arrest.

The incident started about 6 p.m. Wednesday when police tried to stop a vehicle they said had been taken in a carjacking at Rozzelles Ferry Road and West Trade Street. The pursuit ended at Idaho Drive and Brookshire Boulevard.

Two occupants of the stolen car were taken to Carolinas Medical Center with injuries that weren’t life-threatening, police said. A passenger in a vehicle hit during the pursuit was taken to the hospital as a precaution with minor injuries.

The incident snarled traffic for hours on westbound Brookshire Boulevard, which police closed at Interstate 77.
