Man stabbed at bus stop on The Plaza

A man was stabbed at a bus stop in east Charlotte Sunday afternoon.

Police say an altercation led to the stabbing on The Plaza near 36th Street just before 4 p.m. They say a fight broke out between two men, and one man stabbed the other multiple times in the back.

The man’s injuries were not life threatening, according to WBTV, the Observer’s news partner.

The suspect in the case reportedly stayed on scene until police arrived. He was taken to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police headquarters for questioning. Police have not released the names of the men involved.
