Morganton man sentenced for helping dump woman’s body
A Morganton man was sentenced to at least six years in prison after admitting he dumped a woman’s body down an embankment.
Timothy Hal Edwards, 38, pleaded guilty in Burke County Superior Court this week to concealment of a body.
Prosecutors said Edwards and Michael Lee Shuping, 27, dumped the body of 39-year-old Leslie Renee Hensley after Shuping accidentally shot and killed her in April 2015.
Hensley’s body was dumped off a dirt road in Rutherford County.
Shuping pleaded guilty last week to involuntary manslaughter and concealing a death. He was sentenced to at least 10 years in prison.
