Six drivers were charged with driving while impaired at a police traffic safety checkpoint in the 900 block of Tyvola Road late Friday and early Saturday.
Ten drivers were charged with driving while license revoked. Twenty drivers were cited for having no operator’s license, Sgt. Jesse Wood of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s DWI Task Force said.
Police issued a total of 57 charges and citations during the checkpoint from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m., between Old Pineville Road and 77 Center Drive in south Charlotte.
The checkpoint included 21 officers from CMPD, Mecklenburg County ABC and the Cornelius Police Department.
