2 minors arrested for robberies in Hickory, Granite Falls
Two minors are in custody charged with robbing a Walgreens store in Hickory on May 12.
The Hickory Police Department charged Trystan Lee McClain, 16, and Ahmad Shakim Smith, 17, in connection with an armed robbery that was reported around 3:45 a.m. at 2915 N. Center St.
Each faces one count of robbery with a dangerous weapon. Bond was set at $50,000 each.
McClain also has been charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon by the Granite Falls Police Department based on an outstanding arrest warrant.
That incident was reported at about 3 a.m. on May 12 at the Murphy Express convenience store at 4820 Hickory Blvd. in Granite Falls. Bond was set at $50,000 for that charge.
Investigations are continuing at the Hickory Police Department and the Granite Falls Police Department.
