1 injured after wreck ignites propane tank

A driver suffered minor injuries after crashing a vehicle into a strip mall in northeast Charlotte and igniting a propane tank.

The fire started along the back wall of a shopping center in the 9600 block of University City Boulevard Sunday around 4 p.m. The location is near John Kirk Drive.

Medic took the driver to Carolinas Medical Center-University, according to WBTV, the Observer’s news partner. Circumstances that led to the wreck have not been disclosed.

The total amount of damage to the building has not been released.
