Juvenile arrested in connection with Kannapolis house fire
Kannapolis police charged a juvenile with second-degree arson in connection with a fire that caused up to $500,000 in damage to a home in the 2400 block of Wellington Chase Drive Wednesday morning.
No one was home when the fire started about 10:45 a.m. Wednesday. Firefighters rescued the family’s dog, Kannapolis spokeswoman Annette Privette Keller said.
Flames had already engulfed the three-story house when firefighters arrived.
The fire displaced six people. The American Red Cross is helping the family.
