Police arrest 4 suspects in Charlotte vehicle break-ins

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said four people were arrested Monday for their involvement in a series of vehicle break-ins.

Joseph Stewart, 22; Darius Jamison, 17; Christie Dominics, 17; and Michelle Morales, 19, were attempting to break into vehicles on Pinstripe Lane in east Charlotte, along with additional locations, police said. Investigations revealed the four had a “large” quantity of stolen property in their possession, according to police.

Police said officers responded at about 2:48 a.m. to a report of property being stolen from an automobile in the 8400 block of Pinstripe Lane.

Stewart was charged with eight counts of breaking and entering into a motor vehicle; eight counts of possession of stolen property; possession of marijuana; possession of a Schedule II narcotic; and shooting within 900 feet of a residence.

Jamison was charged with eight counts of breaking and entering into a motor vehicle and possession of a firearm by a minor.

Dominics was charged with possession of stolen property and attempted breaking and entering into a motor vehicle.

Morales was issued a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia and released.

On Monday, victims were coming to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Independence Division team office on Monroe Road to pick up their recovered property, police said.
