Person pulled from Lake Norman, taken to hospital

A person had to be transported from Lake Norman on Monday after officials say they nearly drowned.

Emergency crews were called out to the lake near the McGuire Nuclear Station around 4:30 p.m., according to WBTV, the Observer’s news partner. The site is near the 12000 block of Hagers Ferry Road.

According to emergency responders, the person was being treated but reportedly appeared to be breathing on their own.
