Pair sought in attempted robbery of Concord internet sweepstakes business

Police have obtained arrest warrants charging two men in the attempted robbery of a Concord internet sweepstakes business where a security guard shot and killed a third suspect.

Police found Abdur Rahim Muhammed, 32, of Hillsborough, dead of gunshot wounds late Tuesday at ConcordOverstock.com on Union Cemetery Road. Police have said it’s too early in their investigation to conclude whether the guard acted in self defense. No charges have been filed against the guard.

On Thursday, police said they were searching for two other suspects in the case: Javon Alexander Randolph, 25, of Raleigh, and Deontre Antoine Evans, 31, of Hillsborough. Each is wanted on charges of armed robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery. Randolph also is charged with possession of a firearm by a felon.

Concord police said they are working with other law enforcement agencies to help find the men.

Police encourage anyone who knows the whereabouts of Randolph and Evans to call the Concord Police Department at 704-920-5000 or Cabarrus County Crime Stoppers at 704-92-CRIME (27463).
