Man arrested after ankle monitor places him at house break-in
A Denver, N.C., man was arrested this week after authorities said his court-ordered ankle monitor placed him at the scene of a Lincoln County house break-in.
Matthew Allen Hartley, 21, was charged with breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering and possession of stolen goods.
The charges stem from an April 27 break-in of a home in the 5000 block of Amity Lane where electronic items were stolen, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office said Friday. Hartley, a felon, was wearing an N.C. Probation and Parole ankle monitor at the time, sheriff’s investigators said.
Hartley was arrested Wednesday in the Lincoln County jail, where he’d been placed after being charged May 26 in the theft of firearms from his father’s home.
