Police have Tuckaseegee Road gunman in custody
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have a gunman in custody who ran from officers and barricaded himself in a home on Tuckaseegee Road in west Charlotte Wednesday morning.
Shortly before 8:30 a.m., police responded to a report of a gunman at the intersection of Tuckaseegee and Little Rock roads.
The gunman ran from officers to the 7100 block of Tuckaseegee Road, where he remained barricaded for nearly four hours. A SWAT team and police negotiators were called in to talk with the man.
Shortly before 12:30 p.m., police reported the man was taken into custody without incident. Neighbors said the gunman was a teenager whose father brought him outside to police.
Police closed Tuckaseegee Road between Wilkinson Boulevard and Little Rock Road during the incident.
