1 person shot Monday in uptown

One person was shot in uptown Charlotte Monday morning near West Seventh and North Church streets.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say a man rode up on a bike, approached three homeless men and told them to get on the ground. The bike rider shot one of the men in the finger.

The victim was taken to Novant’s main facility in Elizabeth, Medic says.

There’s no word on a possible motive.
