Driver leads troopers on high-speed chase on I-85

A man was arrested after leading North Carolina troopers on a high-speed chase that ended with a crash in Rowan County, authorities said.

The incident began on Interstate 85 around mile marker 81. Troopers did not say what prompted the chase, but the Rowan County Sheriff's Office told WBTV, the Observer’s news partner, that the driver has pending felony charges in Charlotte.

The chase, which reportedly reached speeds of 130 mph, ended when the driver crashed near Webb Road.
