Person shot in 1 of 2 drive-by shootings in Rowan County

At least one person was injured in one of two drive-by shootings within hours and several miles of each other in Salisbury on Tuesday night.

The first incident happened at about 6:30 p.m. near the intersection of East Innes Street and South Long Street. Police said one person was shot and hospitalized.

Police believe the victim, whose name has not been released, was not the intended target.

The second incident happened at about 7:30 p.m. on South Long Street. Police said two vehicles were driving down the street when someone in one of those vehicles shot into the other. No one was shot, officers said, but a vehicle was damaged.
