People who want to weigh in on Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools’ superintendent search will get a series of opportunities this month.

The nonprofit education advocacy group MeckEd will host 12 “community conversations” around Mecklenburg County. The first was Wednesday in Huntersville.

Other sessions this week: 6 p.m. Thursday at the Beatties Ford Road Regional Library, 2412 Beatties Ford Road, and 6 p.m. Friday at Crestdale Middle School, 940 Sam Newell Road, Matthews. All sessions will last about an hour.

The full schedule is available at www.mecked.org, and by the end of the week MeckEd plans to have an online survey posted as well.

The CMS board is working with the search firm McPherson & Jacobson to hire a superintendent early next year. The firm is advertising nationally, with applications due Sept. 30. Superintendent Ann Clark’s contract expires in June 2017.
