Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools will operate on a two-hour delay Thursday, the district announced.
It will be the first time most CMS students will have been in class for a week. The last two school days have been canceled after an ice storm came through the Charlotte region.
The decision was based on snow heading into the region and forecasts of bitter cold early Thursday morning. Employees will be asked to report to work at their regular times, if it is safe to do so.
Before- and after-school care programs will run normally. Schools will dismiss at their regular times, and after-school activities and athletics will be held normally, as well.
Here are the decisions some other Charlotte-area school districts have made for Thursday.
▪ Cabarrus County Schools: Closed Thursday.
▪ Union County Schools: Two-hour delay Thursday.
▪ Mooresville Graded School District: Two-hour delay Thursday.
