CMS on a two-hour delay Friday
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools will operate on a two-hour delay Friday as the city thaws out from its latest winter storm.
The district also was closed Thursday. Students will not need to make up the days, after the school board’s decision earlier this week.
CMS decided to close Thursday as forecasts called for as much as 10 inches of snow across the region. Charlotte awoke, however, to slushy streets and a thin coating of snow.
Temperatures were expected to dip back below freezing Thursday night, raising fears of ice.
Several other districts made similar decisions.
