Cabarrus, Kannapolis, Rowan-Salisbury schools closed Friday

Cabarrus County, Kannapolis City and Rowan-Salisbury schools will be closed Friday because of ice on some roads.

The Cabarrus and Rowan-Salisbury school systems had originally planned to be open today, but on a delayed start. However, Cabarrus officials announced early Friday that they were calling off classes because road conditions were not safe. Rowan-Salisbury leaders reported refreezing on school parking lots and on secondary roads.

The make-up day for Cabarrus students will be April 6.
