JCSU holds active shooter drill Tuesday

Johnson C. Smith University is holding a rapid response active shooter drill on its campus Tuesday from 8 a.m. to noon.

The JCSU campus police is holding the drill for all campus police personnel, and some students will be helping out as well. The Monroe Police Department is leading the training in the Lionel H. Newsom Humanities Building.

People in the area may hear replicated gunfire and see elevated police activity. The two-day event began Monday.
