Elon senior from Charlotte named a Fulbright scholar

An Elon University senior from Charlotte will study in the United Kingdom next year as a Fulbright scholar.

Mary Rouse, a political science major, will research political communication at Royal Holloway, University of London under a Fulbright U.S. Student Award. Her honors thesis at Elon was on “hypocrisy in international relations” and examines why world leaders often say one thing in public yet do another.

Rouse hopes to ultimately join the Foreign Service in the U.S. State Department.
