Principal of Charlotte-Mecklenburg’s Harding High dies

Eric Ward, principal of Harding University High School, died Wednesday, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools officials confirmed.

Circumstances surrounding his death are not known.

“The district has no other statement at this time,” said Patrick Smith, the assistant superintendent of communications.

On Ward’s LinkedIn page, it says he’d worked at CMS since 2008.

Harding High is located in west Charlotte.
