Two CMS buses collide on way to Randolph Middle School, no one injured

Two Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools buses collided in south Charlotte Thursday morning, according to a message sent to families by the district.

Eight students from Randolph Middle School were on bus 926 when it collided with bus 302, which was empty, on the way to the school, the district said. There were no injuries.

The crash occurred just before 11 a.m. near Bertonley Avenue and Water Oak Road.

“We have dispatched bus 173 as a substitute, and all students safely made it to campus,” the message to families said. “As always, the safety and wellbeing of our students and staff remains our number one priority.”
