The dropout prevention group Communities in Schools gave Superintendent Ann Clark its DreamMaker award this week, honoring her 32 years as a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools teacher and administrator.

“Ann Clark is the voice that everyone stops to listen to, and she is a leader who has inspired by example,” Executive Director Molly Shaw said.

Clark was honored as a CIS board member who has supported the group’s efforts. Last year 88 percent of CMS seniors graduated on time, a district record that topped the state average.
