Reminder, parents: Wednesday is an early-release day for CMS
Students at most Charlotte-Mecklenburg School campuses will leave classes three hours early Wednesday as the district holds another early release day.
CMS has said it scheduled four early-release dates – the first was Oct. 7 for most students – to provide teachers some extra time for professional development. Others are set for March 1 and April 20.
The school district will serve brown-bag lunches for students, and buses will run their routes when students are dismissed. After-school programs will be held.
While today’s early-release will apply to most CMS schools, four Project L.I.F.T. schools are on a different schedule. Bruns Academy, Walter G. Byers, Druid Hills Academy and Thomasboro Academy had an early-release day on Jan. 6 and will have others on Feb. 24 and May 11, according to the CMS website.
