CMS bell schedule: 2 schools will see their hours change

Nations Ford and River Gate elementary schools are the only Charlotte-Mecklenburg schools that will see their hours change in August, according to a bell schedule released Friday.

Nations Ford Elementary, which is moving into a new building, will start at 9:15 and dismiss at 4:15, an hour later than this year.

River Gate’s schedule shifts to 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., 15 minutes earlier than now.

The rest of the district’s 168 schools will see no change. And yes, that means most high schools will continue to start at 7:15 a.m., despite persistent requests for later hours.
