In CMS, school’s out, summer’s here and everyone’s celebrating
Thursday marked the end of classes and the start of summer vacation for students in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools.
The end of school brought a few days of fun. Starmount Elementary, which opened in August, celebrated the end of its first year with a field day Thursday. Students could dunk Principal Nancy Martinez, play tug of war or run relays with wet sponges.
The CMS Twitter page showed a range of other festivities during the final week, from faculty at Elon Park Elementary School rocking out to Justin Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop the Feeling” to Butler High math teacher Paul Mayfield staging a lip-synch battle with his students.
Hey @jimmyfallon, if I was you, I wanna be me.... too!
