A Texas Roadhouse restaurant in the Charlotte area received a “B” grade from the Mecklenburg County Health Department after inspectors found that an undercooked food item was being offered on the menu.

The Texas Roadhouse at 10400 E. Independence Blvd. received a score of 87.5 during its March 28 inspection.

Health department inspectors cited the restaurant after discovering that salmon on the menu was being offered, though it was not prepared to the proper temperature, documents show.

Other violations the restaurant was cited for include:

  • Employees preparing food without washing their hands

  • Dishes stored in hand-washing sink

  • A buildup of food debris in coolers

  • Vents in walk-in cooler with heavy dust build-up

This is the restaurant’s first “B” grade, documents show.

The violations have since been corrected and the restaurant is scheduled for another inspection this week, a Texas Roadhouse employee told The Charlotte Observer.

According to state law, permits are immediately revoked if a restaurant receives a score of less than 70 percent.
