Charlotte residents will soon need a new app to pay for parking.

Starting June 1, the “user-friendly” ParkMobile app will replace the Park It Charlotte app, the City of Charlotte announced yesterday.

The Park It Charlotte app allowed drivers to pay for parking by entering the zone number listed on parking meter signs around the city.

.

With ParkMobile, drivers will have the option to start a parking session on the app, pay for parking online at parkmobile.io or text “Park” to 77223.

ParkMobile signs will be placed throughout roughly 25 parking zones in uptown and South End in the coming weeks, according to the city.
