This is how much apartment space $1,500 will get you in Charlotte in 2023

With apartment prices across the country continuing to rise, a new report is shedding light on the cities where money stretches the most for renters.

RentCafe compiled a list of how much apartment space renters can get with $1,500 in different cities across the U.S., including Charlotte.

According to the list, the national average size for that budget is 782 square feet.

However, that differs among regions.

In several North Carolina cities, you can get more room than what the average renter would get. But renters in Charlotte have to make do with the least amount of space in the state.

RentCafe indicates that Charlotte apartments at the $1,500 per month price point are about 854 square feet. In comparison, that’s less than the average size, which is 941 square feet for $1,625 monthly.

Sunbelt and Midwestern cities -- Wichita, Kansas, Columbus, Georgia and McAllen, Texas -- top the list, offering the most space for $1,500.
