Take a dip at the Lake Norman Yacht Club to help the Special Olympics Lake Norman help athletes with special needs at the 2023 Polar Plunge in Mooresville. If you raise $50 for the cause, you’ll get a t-shirt. $30. Registration begins at noon, and the plunge takes place at 3 p.m. 297 Yacht Drive, Mooresville

Jog with the Run Club at Lake Norman Brewery, then grab a wood-fired oven honey pie (red sauce, whole milk mozzarella, pepperoni and crushed red pepper flakes, drizzled with local honey) from King of Fire pizza to pair with a craft beer afterward. The food truck will be there from 5-9 p.m., and Run Club takes place from 6:30-7:30 p.m. 1753 Triangle Circle, Denver.

Take a walk through Roosevelt Wilson Park in Davidson, which offers a large pond and water feature, paved walking trails, a playground and more. Pro tip: The greenways in Davidson span more than six miles throughout multiple parks and the entire town, which means there’s plenty of green space to explore in the area. Free. 420 Griffith St.
