1. Catawba Two Kings Casino violates US law, federal investigation finds

More news coming out of Catawba County in regards to a new casino project.

A federal investigation found the Catawba Nation and its casino development partner violated the law with business agreements related to the tribe’s Two Kings Casino in Kings Mountain.

The violation carries a daily fine until the tribe and its partners have addressed the issues with its contracts.

2. Lights coming back on in Moore County. FBI seeks information as substation repaired

Moore County slowly continues to recover from massive power outages over the weekend.

The county about two hours east of Charlotte is beginning to see power restored to thousands of households and businesses from Pinehurst to Carthage.

While the attacks initially struck 45,000 customers and their families, Duke Energy had whittled that number down to 23,000 by Wednesday morning.

3. A Charlotte restaurant lands on OpenTable’s list of 100 Mot Beloved Restaurants in America

Another Charlotte restaurant earned national recognition.

Steak 48 Charlotte, and upscale steakhouse, was named one of the 100 Most Beloved Restaurants in America for 2022 by OpenTable.

It’s the only Charlotte restaurant to make the list and just one of two in North Carolina.
