OK, Mr. President, ‘I think you’ve sort of covered everything’
President Barack Obama is known for giving long answers often during Q&As. But not everyone gets the nerve to interrupt the commander-in-chief.
But that’s just what a Maryland sixth-grader did this week. And of course, video of the exchange is making the rounds online.
Osman Yahya, a student at Bennett Middle School, was interviewing Obama about books and technology during a ‘virtual field trip’ on Thursday when the president apparently went a little too long with an answer about writing.
“Listen, even the best writers,” Obama says, “usually it’s not that good the first time they write it.”
Osman then cuts the president off.
“Yeah, and I think you’ve sort of covered everything about that question,” he says, drawing some laughs from the audience.
The president quickly responds, “Osman thinks I’ve been talking too long.”
“No, no,” the boy says, “I think you just ...”
“No, let’s move it along.” a smiling Obama says as the student does go on to ask his next question.
