Pennsylvania State Police are investigating an incident involving two teenage girls in Seward who allegedly allowed a 2-year-old toddler to use a vaping device, filmed it, and posted the video to Snapchat.

A 17-year-old girl was babysitting a 2-year-old boy at a home in Westmoreland County on Jan. 9, police said in a press release. The child took a vaping device from a nightstand and started using it. The girl and another 18-year-old female are accused of allowing him to inhale from the device and posting a video of the incident on Snapchat.

The recording shows the child inhaling, then coughing and crying while laughter can be heard in the background.

The vaping device had 3% nicotine but no THC. Aside from the coughing, the child “did not display other visible effects from inhaling the device contents,” police said in the release.

Police told the child’s parents about the incident and it was also reported to Child and Youth Services. The teens are not related to the toddler, according to police.

There is an ongoing active investigation and police are looking into charging the teens with endangering welfare of children, according to the release.

The United School District of Armagh, Pennsylvania told CBS Pittsburgh that two of its students are believed to be involved.

“United administration was made aware of the video today, and the matter is being investigated by the authorities. We believe that two of our students were involved in the situation. The names of those students were provided to the authorities,” Superintendent Dr. Barbara Parkins said in a statement, CBS Pittsburgh reported.
