‘Call the White House!’ Man speaks out after taping swastika sign to California condo

A man posted signs of swastikas and racial slurs outside his Calabasas condominium and told reporters to “call the White House.”

Police responded to a complaint about the signs on Jan. 14, according to the Los Angeles Times. The posters had swastikas, American flags, and called out politicians like Mike Pence and Mitt Romney.

When KTLA reporters asked the man about the signs, he threw a stack of papers with similar messages to the ground. “Take this, read it. Call the White House,” he said.

Another message read in part “I am Jewish” and “sh—hole country,” KTLA reported.

President Trump referred to Haiti and African nations as “sh—hole countries” in a January 2018 meeting, according to the Washington Post.

Calabasas Mayor Alicia Weintraub wrote on Facebook that the city has told the man that he has 24 hours to taken down the signs, because it “violates city code covering inflammatory language and threats to others.”

“This type of material and language has no place in our community and we are working tirelessly to get the material taken down,” Weintraub wrote.

Neighbors told Fox 11 that the owner of the condo has “threatened other neighbors in the past.”

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the incident as a possible hate crime, Fox 11 reported. The man has not been identified by authorities.
