You’ll soon be able to order Chipotle through a chat bot on Facebook Messenger
Chipotle fans are about to have two new ways to place their orders.
The chain announced Wednesday that customers will soon be able to order through Facebook Messenger as well as make group orders on Chipotle’s website.
Starting June 22, Chipotle’s new chat bot Pepper will guide Facebook users through the ordering process on the site’s messaging platform, the company said.
To order, you’ll visit Facebook.com/Chipotle or the company’s page on the Facebook app then click the “message us” option. From there, Pepper will ask you where you’re located to determine your nearest Chipotle restaurant, then guide you through an ordering process, the company said.
You’ll be able to customize your meal — with an option of light, normal or extra helpings of ingredients — or you can just describe your order to Pepper in the chat window.
From there, you can choose your payment method and checkout as a guest, create an account or log in to your Chipotle Rewards account to redeem points, the company said.
Orders placed through Pepper will be available for delivery or pick-up.
Chipotle is also making ordering for groups easier with a new online feature.
Choose “start a group order” on Chipotle.com and you’ll be able to share a link with your group that allows multiple people to order at the same time, the company said.
Once everyone has entered their order, the host handles the checkout process.
In addition to the new ordering options, Chipotle is also letting customers round up their order totals to the nearest dollar to donate to organizations that fight issues including systemic racism and inequality, starting with the National Urban League, the company said.
