Town with ‘Schitt’s Creek’ vibe for sale in Tennessee for under $1 million. Take a look
Its name is Water Valley, and it’s a seven-acre town with four former stores and a stock barn that’s available for $725,000, the listing says.
The picturesque place is reminding people of the Emmy Award-winning series “Schitt’s Creek” about a formally rich family who lost all their money and had to live in a small town that was purchased by Eugene Levy as a joke for his son, played by Dan Levy.
“I have had a few people mention ‘Schitt’s Creek’ the television series,” real estate agent Christa Swartz said to News Channel 5.
“You could totally be your own mayor,” Swartz told Fox. “You would also be your own everything else though, too ... so the cleaner and the mayor and the barkeeper. You could be the antique store owner.”
Swartz told WIVB 4 that the owners are hoping for a buyer who will preserve the town’s history.
“They would love to get it in the hands of somebody who knows the potential, who would really do it right, and honor the history and the area and just make it a beautiful destination for people to come out to,” Swartz said.
Swartz also said that she’s been fielding calls from Hollywood filmmakers about using the property as a setting.
“I’ve had a couple of different television shows call and I have one on my phone right now I have to return after I finish talking to you – movies and television shows that would like to buy the whole little town to make it like a set for a show, probably because of the success of ‘Schitt’s Creek,’ “ Swartz said to WIVB. “We are not interested in letting it kind of turn into that. The owners are really hoping it becomes part of Tennessee’s past, present, and future.”
