13 students injured after school bus rolls over on highway, Alabama cops say

Thirteen students were injured when a school bus rolled over on March 16 in Alabama, state troopers said.

The bus had 26 people on board and was on its way from a career technical center to Wadley High School in Randolph County when it was in an accident, according to Randolph County Board of Education’s Facebook post.

Officials didn’t disclose why the bus had overturned while driving along county Highway 33, WVTM reported.

Injured students were transported to the Tanner Medical Center and one student was sent to the Children’s Hospital in Birmingham with a laceration, according to the board’s Facebook post.

“We are very fortunate that the injuries were not worse, and we thank all of the various first responders from Randolph, Chambers, and Clay Counties and others who reported so quickly to the scene,” the board said.

Wadley is about 110 miles southeast of Birmingham.
