Krispy Kreme is helping celebrate March Madness with a shot at free doughnuts as the Final Four men’s and women’s teams prepare to play.

Fans can score a free dozen Original Glazed doughnuts if either the men’s or women’s NCAA basketball championship is decided by a margin of 12 points, the Charlotte-based doughnut shop announced April 1.

If things pan out, customers can visit any Krispy Kreme store or drive-thru on April 5 to pick up their free dozen, while supplies last.

“Twenty years ago, both the women’s and men’s national basketball championships were decided by 12 points – the only time in the history of the tournaments that has happened in the same year,” according to a news release. “So far in the 2022 men’s and women’s tournaments, a total of five games have been decided by a dozen.”

In the women’s semfinals in Minneapolis on Friday, April 1, South Carolina plays Louisville at 7 p.m. Eastern Time and Connecticut plays Stanford at 9:30 p.m. The championship game is at 8 p.m. Sunday.

In the men’s semifinals in New Orleans on Saturday, April 2, Villanova plays Kansas at 6:09 p.m. Eastern Time and North Carolina plays Duke at 8:49 p.m. The championship game is at 9:20 p.m. Monday.

The free doughnuts offer is based on the final score of the championship games only.
