61-year-old dies after hit-and-run driver knocks him into another car’s path, TN cops say
A 61-year-old pedestrian was killed when a hit-and-run driver pushed him into the path of another car in Tennessee, officials said.
Now, Nashville police are seeking clues about the driver accused of leaving the scene of the crash late Feb. 22.
The crash was reported in the middle of Gallatin Pike North, northeast of downtown Nashville. The 61-year-old was a pedestrian in a left turn lane when a white sedan hit him, according to a preliminary police investigation.
“The impact of the crash knocked the man into the southbound lane of travel when a Nissan Versa also struck him,” the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department wrote in a news release.
The man was taken to a nearby medical center, where he was pronounced dead.
The Nissan driver stayed at the scene of the crash, but the white sedan drove off, officers said.
“The vehicle will have front end damage and a busted headlight,” police wrote. “Anyone with information about the car or driver involved is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.”
