A high school English teacher wanted to get a “good night’s sleep” but had a hard time relaxing after winning big with an online lottery game, Virginia officials said.
Lisa Levy, of Leesburg, was attempting to unwind in bed and play Virginia Lottery’s online game The Lamp when she hit the jackpot and won $358,057, according to an April 11 news release.
“I’m flabbergasted!” she told lottery officials. “There are no words!”
Levy plans on using her winnings to help pay off her son’s student loans, officials said.
Leesburg is about 40 miles northwest of Washington, D.C.
Many people can gamble or play games of chance without harm. However, for some, gambling is an addiction that can ruin lives and families.
