A Missouri lottery player was stunned to find out just how much the scratch-off ticket he purchased was worth.

“I kept looking at it because it was in pieces like the $10,000 was on top, but the others were at the bottom,” the man said, according to an Aug. 28 news release from the Missouri Lottery.

The man, who was not named in the release, purchased the Millionaire Blowout Scratchers ticket in O’Fallon. After adding all the numbers together, he realized he won $50,000.

The man was still in the store when he played the ticket, so he had the clerk scan it. Once she saw the prize amount, her “eyes popped out” and she said, “Oh my,” the lottery said.

The man says he plans to give some of the money to charity and take a vacation with his family, according to the lottery.

The lottery says the Millionaire Blowout scratch-off ticket still has another 15 prizes of $50,000 that have yet to be claimed, as well as seven $1 million prizes and a top prize of $5 million.

O’Fallon is about 40 miles northwest of St. Louis.
